While all our French Bulldogs conform beautifully to AKC standards, there is room within the breed for a variety of colors, temperaments, and body structures, giving each dog its own distinctive charm.

At Melissa Frenchies, we are dedicated to maintaining a stable of exceptional male French Bulldogs to complement our beautiful females. Each of our males comes from an impressive lineage, often featuring champions from Europe, particularly Hungary and Russia. Thoughtful Retirement Practices At Melissa Frenchies, we take pride in our ethical breeding practices. While we retire our females young—typically between 3 to 4 years of age after producing an average of 3 litters—our males often remain active in our breeding program for a longer period. Once our males are no longer fertile or when they no longer fit into our program, we ensure they transition to loving forever homes where they can enjoy their well-deserved retirement.

Our Waiting List Procedure To help match each puppy to the right home, we utilize a waiting list system:

- Customized Matches: If you’re seeking a very specific type of Frenchie and haven’t had success elsewhere, we’ll work to produce the puppy you desire within a reasonable timeframe.

Mothers with Puppies Overview
At Melissa Frenchies, we take immense pride in our exceptional female French Bulldogs. Over the years, we’ve learned that to responsibly breed high-quality Frenchies, it’s not just about having the best males; you also need outstanding females to complement them.
Commitment to Quality We ensure that none of our breeding dogs have significant health concerns such as allergies, breathing issues, or joint problems. Additionally, all our dogs undergo genetic testing to screen for common French Bulldog genetic defects. This commitment guarantees that our puppies are as healthy and strong as possible.
Diverse and High-Quality Females We’ve worked diligently to acquire a diverse group of females who embody the best of the French Bulldog breed. While their personalities differ, they all share pleasant dispositions and a love for people and their canine companions. These wonderful moms enjoy spending time indoors with their families, especially children, and are incredibly well-behaved.
Each of our females carries one or more rare recessive color genes, allowing them to produce a variety of stunning coat colors. Whether it’s standard brindles, fawns, sables, and creams, or rare pure coats and tan points, our females deliver exceptional litters every time.
Ethical Breeding Practices Our Frenchie moms deliver their puppies via c-section to ensure the safest outcomes for both mother and pups. To maintain their health and well-being, we limit each female to an average of three litters. After that, they retire at a young age to enjoy life as cherished family members, living out their golden years as the queens they truly are.
We replace retiring females with carefully selected puppies from our best litters, continually improving our program’s quality. By choosing the best-of-the-best females and males, we are achieving our mission of improving the breed’s health, conformation, size, and temperament.
Adopting Our Retirees When our females (and occasionally males) retire, they become available for adoption at very reasonable prices. Retirees are announced in the New Puppies section, with pictures and videos posted under Our Frenchies > Mothers with Puppies or Available Retirees.
Due to current airline restrictions, retirees cannot be delivered by air. If you’re interested in adopting a retiree, you must plan to visit our home in Northern Utah. In some cases, we can help arrange ground transportation for a fair fee.
First Come, First Served Policy We follow a first come, first served policy when placing retirees. However, we give preference to past puppy clients who live within a reasonable driving distance. If you’re a previous client with a favorite Frenchie you’d like to adopt in the future, feel free to let us know—we’d love to work with you to make it happen
